Dyfed-Powys Police used identical photographs in a wanted notice that also appeared in a defamatory TikTok video falsely identifying me as convicted paedophile Alan Herbert Delaney.
Photo Comparison
Background: The Defamatory TikTok Video
In 2023, a video was posted on TikTok claiming that I was the convicted paedophile Alan Herbert Delaney.
The video placed a black-and-white photo of Alan Herbert Delaney next to two color photographs of me, Alan Delaney Tait.
When I reported the video to police in 2023, they took no action.
Thier inaction led to my wife and I being attacked on three separate occasions.
The Wanted Notice
In December 2025, Dyfed-Powys Police issued a wanted notice for me in connection with a harassment offence.
The notice contained two photographs that are identical to those used in the defamatory TikTok video.
Critical Observations
- The same clothing, hairstyle, and background appear in both the TikTok video and the wanted notice photos.
- Border sizes are id entical between the images
- Police photos are "sharper" suggesting they may be the original, higher-quality versions
- The police notice includes copyright notice: "© Photo - Ammanford and Cross Hands Police"
Timeline of Events
Defamatory TikTok video posted falsely identifying me as a paedophile.
I reported the video to Dyfed-Powys Police, who took no action.
My wife and I were attacked three times following the video's circulation.
Dyfed-Powys Police issued a wanted notice for me regarding an harassment offence.
I again reported the defamatory video (ref: DP-2025129-269), and pointed out the photos used are the same.
Again, no action was taken regarding the defamatory video.
Analysis: Which came first?
The police might have been the source of the original photos because:
- Evidence Chain: Police agencies maintain evidentiary files with original, high-quality photos.
- Quality Difference: The sharper police photos suggest they are originals, not copies.
- Protocol: Police would use original evidence for official notices, not source from unverified internet videos.
- Timeline: The police may have had these photos in their system long before the 2023 TikTok video.
Police Response
After I reported the photo similarity to the police in December 2025, I received this response:
"Dear Mr Tait,
As you are aware from the press release on social media, you are currently wanted by Dyfed-Powys Police for the offence of Harassment.
Due to this, we require you to attend your local Police Station where you live or preferably Dafen Police Station in Llanelli so we can discuss this case in an appropriate setting.
Kind regards,"
